Silver Hill Float Service and Canoe Rental is an Authorized Canoe Concessioner of the Buffalo National River. We offer shuttle services and rental of canoes, kayaks, rafts & tubes. Float with us in every season and experience the Buffalo National River as few visitors do. Our staff has a combined experience of 50 years providing floating services to visitors to the Buffalo National River. We customize your points of entry and take-out based on your plans. Canoes - $50.00 per day Kayaks - $45.00 per day Rafts - $25.00 per person per day Tubes $6.00 per day. 9% tax on all rentals. Life jackets, paddles, and a mesh trash bag are furnished with all floats. Our shuttle fees vary according to entry and take-out points. Our most popular day floats are: Baker Ford to Gilbert 9.7 miles Tyler Bend to Gilbert 5.4 miles Grinders Ferry to Gilbert 4.3 miles We offer several other options as well as overnight trips. Floats are available year round. Float in the winter for a totally unique experience. |

Middle River Hiking Trails at Tyler BendGPS: 35.9864,-92.762611 (2.75 miles, 8 mins) The link above is to a brochure for 7 hiking trails near the Tyler Bend Visitor Center (5), Wollum (1), and Gilbert (1).. Visitors will want to at least check out the trails near the visitor center and the olld Gilbert Railroad Trail in Gilbert. The Tyler Bend Visitor Center itself is an outstanding facility with exhiibits, a small store, ranger programs, and films. |
Grinders FerryDirectionsGPS: 35.98419, -92.74501 (1.5 miles, 3 mins) Grinders Ferry is an oustanding swimming hole, and in the middle of a popular area for fishermen. It has parking and toilets. It is on the southeast side of the Buffalo River where it is crossed by Highway 65. It is well marked and easy to see from the bridge. It is between Gilbert and Marshall near Tyler Bend. |
