The Buffalo River Chamber of Commerce supports the implementation of Bearcat Hollow Phase II project as proposed. We believe an expanded elk population will expand tourism and create needed jobs in the Buffalo River Region. Other benefits of this project also support nature-based tourism. The project is good for business and the economy and is a step forward.
Our reasoning is simple. Habitat expansion means more elk. More elk means more tourism, something that creates jobs and benefits everyone. Arkansas has a unique place as an elk destination in our southern region. We attract elk viewers from many states and the level of interest has increased steadily. This is a strength we should build on
